What coverages exist under an American Bankers flood insurance policy?

If your home or business is located in a flood zone, one of the most important things to do before you travel is to ensure you have the tools to protect your home. Thankfully, American Bankers has products to get you the coverage you need. What coverage is provided with an American Bankers flood insurance policy? There are three different types of flood insurance policies offered through this company:

  • Residential Private Flood
  • Private Residential Condominium Building Association Policy Flood Insurance (PRCBAP)
  • Commercial buildings

Let’s look at each one in detail to determine if American Bankers has the insurance coverage you need to protect your home.

Residential Private Flood

Homeowners in flood zones can purchase a personal flood insurance policy with American Bankers. You’ll need to fill out an application form that consists of about 20 questions. In addition, when you purchase an American Bankers flood insurance policy, you won’t have to worry about being responsible for any National Flood Insurance Program surcharges.

PRCBAP Flood Insurance

American Banker’s PRCBAP product offers not only up to $150,000 in coverage for your damaged belongings but an easy quoting process and policy customization. You can even receive $5,000 coverage for damage caused by riots.

If your condo is located within a Coastal Barrier Resource Act designated area or is partially over water, it will not be PRCBAP eligible.

Commercial Buildings

A cascading flood will damage a storefront just as it would a privately-owned residence, but with a commercial buildings policy from American Bankers, you can protect your business. You can purchase up to $1,000,000 in coverage for your building’s structure and up to $500,000 in contents coverage.

American Bankers can also add a replacement cost endorsement for your storefront and its contents. While buildings located in flood zones B, X, and D may be eligible for coverage, you will not qualify for a policy through American Bankers if you have already filed two or more flood claims.

Is American Bankers a highly rated company?

You can find ratings for American Bankers Insurance from the Better Business Bureau and A.M. Best under the Assurant name.

American Bankers has an A+ rating from the BBB. It has also earned nearly 4/5 stars through 1,175 customer reviews, indicating stellar customer service.
