Under normal circumstance which means good driving record, you could get a 10% discount on your car insurance when you turn 25. However, the discount is only applied generally to the base premium rate. Also, the insurance company will look into other factors like gender, civil status, credit score, driving history, and your living arrangement.

Insurance companies are also expecting that a person who his 25 years old will probably be on the verge of getting a new car or a better second hand car, so if you are thinking of this, you can negotiate with the insurance company for a better rate not just based on your age but on multiple car policy or an upgrade in vehicle.  Thus, it is not a “sure thing” to expect once you reach your 25th birthday.
