If you have signed up for auto debit with the credit card company and the insurance company, then you are automatically renewed. This will only change when you inform the bank that you will to cancel all auto debit arrangement with the insurance company.
Unfortunately, there are several cases when even with a written request, the debit continues. To avoid the fuss, you could consider requesting for a change in credit card number because that would automatically stop all auto debits cold.
It is advisable that you stay aware of your renewal dates when you have auto debit so you can plan ahead or switch the electronic function off so you don’t have to deal with the last minute rush.
